Corrections
How we fix errors, mark corrections and retract stories.
We fix mistakes in the open.
What happens when something is wrong
- Small errors (a typo, a wrong date or channel): we fix the text, and the "Updated" time on the page changes.
- Material errors (a fact that changes what the story says): we fix the text and add a "Correction" note at the top of the story that says what changed.
- Stories we cannot stand behind: we retract them. The address then shows a short notice that the story was retracted, and it leaves the sitemap, the news sitemap and the RSS feed.
What counts as a correction
A change to a fact, a date, a price, a channel or a quote. We do not change the "Updated" time for formatting-only edits.
Reporting an error
Email contact@onairseason.com with the page address and what is wrong. Include a source if you have one. We read the messages sent to this address and fix confirmed errors as described above.
